GOD COMES NEAR

Love becomes flesh

 

God does not remain distant from our brokenness.

 

He comes into it.

 

In Jesus, God comes near.

 

The eternal Word becomes flesh and enters our human story.

 

Jesus does not merely tell us what God is like.

 

He shows us.

 

He touches the untouchable.

 

Welcomes the outsider.

 

Forgives sinners.

 

Feeds the hungry.

 

Restores the broken.

 

Confronts hypocrisy.

 

Loves His enemies.

 

And gives Himself away.

 

Jesus reveals a Kingdom unlike the kingdoms of this world.

 

A Kingdom where greatness looks like service.

 

Where the last can become first.

 

Where power is expressed through love.

 

And where the way forward is not domination, but self-giving love.
